What would happen if we never aged? Barrack’s production of the musical Tuck Everlasting will hopefully answer that question as it explores the life of Winnie Foster after she meets the Tucks, a family who can’t age. It is a timeless love story with amazing music and many tough decisions on how to live your life. Barrack is working with Wolf Pack, a performing arts center, to make this production possible. The show is being directed and choreographed by Jordan Hayes and the music director is Mic Ecker.
Jordan Hayes explained that the decision to do the musical was partly up to the students as they sent out a survey and the majority voted for Tuck Everlasting over SpongeBob SquarePants The Musical. That wasn’t the only reason why the director approved of the production as she also agrees with the messages of the show: the importance of living your best life, and trying to enjoy every moment.
After sitting in on a rehearsal, I enjoyed experiencing the fun spirit of both the directors and cast in the room. This show seems like it has been a great opportunity for the cast to bond with each other no matter the grade they are in.
Going to see Tuck Everlasting is a great way to support your fellow classmates and have a good time.
